Putting it all together

Having worked through the first two sections of this unit (AC 1.1 and AC 1.2) you are now ready to use your knowledge and understanding of the appeal of tourism destinations to show how one destination appeals to tourists.

You should have studied the example of Dublin in Resource 3 to see what is required.

You should make sure that you cover all of the points in the table below and try to produce an explanation rather than a description.

You need to include:

  • Name of destination – coastal, rural or town/city
  • Location
  • Accessibility
  • Natural attractions
  • Built attractions
  • Accommodation
  • Other features
  • Characteristics of tourists
  • Types of tourist
