Each year within the UK, there are a wide range of events that attract thousands of tourists. These events range from sporting, music and business events to cultural festivals and charity events.
Events such as sporting competitions and festivals attract large numbers of domestic and incoming tourists. Large scale international events such as the Olympic Games attract millions of visitors and those who cannot travel to the event can view it on their television screens which help to promote the destination as a major tourist attraction.
