Do well in 'developing UK tourist destinations'

AC 2.2 - Describe how destination features are enhanced to give appeal

Introduction

You should now understand that tourism development is happening continuously in many destinations.  Each development makes the destination a bit more appealing to different types of tourists, making them consider a visit to the destination.

Some tourism development projects cost millions of pounds, some involve the opening of a new tourism business and some are brought about by good fortune, such as being featured on a TV programme.  For example, the destinations featured in Harry Potter films and the Game of Thrones series have seen an increase in visitors who were interested in the films and programmes.

This section of the unit involves thinking about developments which have recently taken place or happening at the present time in tourism destinations.
